Lately my mornings have been taken over by iced coffee-fueled meetings and busy preparations for photo shoots. I'm sorry that it's been so long since I've posted. I'm learning again what it feels like to balance things and keep some time just for me.
Since things have been a little harried around here, I will share at least one of the things that have been keeping me going—the promise of a beautifully dressed bed at the end of the day. We are loving our fabulously textured and utterly sumptuous bedding from Matteo Home found at one of my favorite places for all things beautiful, Alder & Co.

I'm liking the apartment tour of this L.A. home via Refinery29. It's a fun mix of vintage and California cool.
I'm also dreaming up ways that I'd use this Colombian baking dish and am delighted by this kid's comment card for the MoMA.

I love these rustic-looking cutting boards from Gray Works Designs in Woodstock, NY. From pie rests to cheese boards, the footed platters are constructed from salvaged or sustainably harvested wood that have been cured with organic olive oil.

I have a crush on a beautiful throw blanket. Oh my. Donna Wilson kills it with this one.
Alder & Co. stocks it stateside, if you're interested.

I love the beautiful wooden cutting board that R and C brought over as a gift for our housewarming last weekend. It is an exquisite piece of walnut with gorgeous natural details from the Joinery in Portland. I love furniture from the Joinery—the craftsmanship is unparalleled and they source their wood from sustainable forests.
I have my eye on a dining room table that is absolutely divine.

Before my mom visited last month, I had not been thrifting in a long time. I did, however, thrift a lot as a teenager—always on the hunt for vintage beaded clutches, antique baubles, and fun, oversized sunglasses. It was something fun to do with friends and always led to some creative and ambitious project like refurnishing an armoire or rewiring a lamp.
Today, a walk into a thrift shop worked out wonderfully in my favor as I found a lovely WMF wire basket designed by Ole Palsby for a dollar fifty. Woohoo!

Our couch should be delivered in the next week and so I'm looking around for a really great pillow option. Since the couch we found from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams is a neutral olive/gray, I think that we can make a statement with a color or pattern—the catch being that we must also consider the color palette of our amazing Madeline Weinrib rugs. Maybe after making the rug a focal piece in the room, a neutral color for the pillow is the way to go after all.
I'd like to share a few of the great pillow options that I've stumbled across while on my search. The pillows above are by Donna Wilson for SCP. I also couldn't resist posting this tulip option from Wayne Pate for Good Shape Design even though it is a little feminine. It'd be perfect for a little girl's room.

Canoe is the best place in Portland to find a well-edited selection of design products for the home as well as my secret US source for Iris Hantverk brushes, which, in my opinion, make all chores tolerable. I love the aesthetic of the shop and always find something to take home. This time, it was the well-made teak trivet from Denmark and yes, a brush or two.

I'm really having a plaid moment. It all started with my pretty fog linen work checked table cloth and it's turned into my obsession with their lovely napkins and placemats. And now, I'm revisiting Pendleton for the warm blankets that my grandmother used to keep on eastern Long Island for picnics and cool nights. Did you know that they did a collection with Opening Ceremony for their 100th anniversary?
