These spring linens from Fog Linen Work are so light and airy. I cannot wait to throw one of these over a picnic table and serve lunch in the park.

We are packing and heading off to spend Thanksgiving in Napa. Safe travels everyone!

All summer long I have been searching for a reusable melamine plate for barbecues and parties. I think that I've found it! Decoupage artist and East Village staple shop owner for all things that one might find in curio cabinet, John Derian just launched his collection for Target, featuring among other assorted prints on platters, a line of fabulous melamine plates!

Beautiful blossoms from Portland's Ink & Peat floral shop in NE. I'm bookmarking them for future use.

I'm looking forward to a friend's July 4th barbecue and thinking about what I should bring, perhaps a dessert?

Summer cook-outs and lazy picnics make me think of oilcloth tables filled with a bounty of dishes. Love some of the oil cloth options from this Etsy shop ($8 per yard) as well as Plastica in L.A. ($30 for a 2' by 7' tablecloth).

There's a little spring cleaning going on at my modern artefact. Please be patient if the posts look at little strange. We're working on it.
