Although I have an ever-expanding collection of cookbooks, I'm also very much inspired by the cooks in my family and circle of friends. And while my email is very searchable database for these sought-after secrets (most of which were relayed by keyboard), there is something really lovely about keeping written records. I know that I always marveled at my grandmother's written hand when reading recipes for her famous monkey face cookies or fluffy Hungarian waffles.

While a recipe book is a good idea for some, I really like these pretty recipe cards from Rifle Paper Co. I'd like to see them neatly organized in an acrylic box on my counter.

Egg Press in Portland is celebrating their ten-year anniversary this year. I love their letterpress cards so much that I stocked up on dinner party invites, thank yous, and even found the perfect card for my daddi-o for father's day.

Wrapping presents is a pleasure when you have beautiful paper on-hand. My favorites are from Snow & Graham, Whimsy Press, Waste Not Paper, and Wooster and Prince.
