Sauvie Island grands
grands and douglases

We got into the holiday spirit today by driving out to Sauvie Island to pick out our very own yuletide tree. I pulled the tree cart and A brought the saw. We walked the rows until we found the right one. A fresh, full Grand in a charming conical shape. It's our first tree and it's perfect. We loaded up the car and as we were making a few last adjustments, we saw a tree that was being smushed into the car next to us literally bust through the window with a spray of glass! I never knew that there could be so much drama at a pick-your-own tree farm.

Although it took three trips to the hardware store to get everything we needed (the first trip for LED lights and a stand and the last two for a proper saw to make a clean cut for the stand), it was so fun to spend the day together doing holiday chores.

The tree is up, watered, and lit. We have a few ornaments up—a few collected, some from A's mom, and a couple new.
