We finally got our katsu-kare (カツカレー) or Japanese-style curry craving sated at Go Go Curry, which apparently also has a location in NYC. We used to frequent Curry-Ya in the East Village and Ennju in Union Square for all of our curry rice needs.
I'll have to find a mix at home so that we can have it year-round. I've heard that Golden Curry is a pretty good option that's available in the states.
