Often a collection offers a few exciting ideas and then slight variations on the silhouette or print to recycle the main theme. Thakoon's Spring 2009 RTW wasn't any different with a sophisticated nod to lingerie. There were a few pieces that were excellent, including a "smoke ghost sequin draped apron jumper" (look 24) that I fell in love with immediately as it came down the runway and the "ivory chiffon bow blouse" that was paired with a "black chiffon organdy shibari skirt" (look 20). The prints were bright and cheeky with "kisses" and "eyelashes" draped in chiffon, left open or sheer in the back and wrapped up in bows at the neck. The bottoms consisted mostly of airy chiffon pants that were bound with black ribbon. The last few looks included lovely gowns delicately gathered in a deconstructed but expertly crafted fashion. The bodice was defined, but the dress floated away from the body in vibrant greens and purples.
