I just received Volume One and Two of Canal House Cooking in the mail. These cookbooks are published thrice-yearly and are fantastic in that they provide delicious recipes season by season with wonderful food photography and interesting little anecdotes about the cooking process and recipe experimentation.
Although I originally picked up these books thinking that they were Dutch recipes, I've been pleasantly surprised with good and simple American recipes with a seasonal focus (the cooks behind Canal House take their name from their lovely kitchen studio on the canal in an old New England town).
Another perfect gift subscription for the epicurean home cook in your life!
