I would love to have pieces by Royal Copenhagen one day—the company has a long-standing history and employs traditional methods to make traditional shapes, but with the addition of the modern twists in the nooks and crannies of each piece by designers like Louise Campbell, these pieces of porcelain are just spectacular.
Looking at all of the lovely crockery reminds me of when A and I went to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and saw some really lovely blue patterned Delftware on display. Delftware was manufactured in the Netherlands from the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries and flourished after the Dutch East India Company brought pieces of Chinese porcelain back to Delft for all to admire.
